Though earlier this year AMC executives made it clear they had no intentions of ending their cash cow “The Walking Dead” anytime soon, when the series does come to a close you shouldn’t expect it to follow creator Robert Kirkman’s still ongoing comics.
Comic creator Robert Kirkman appeared on Kevin Smith and Greg Grunberg’s AMC series “Geeking Out” this weekend (via Uproxx) and revealed that each version of “The Walking Dead” will have different endings so fans of both don’t have to worry about spoilers.
“I know how I want to end The Walking Dead, the book. But I can’t tell anyone, because I don’t want it on the show before I get it in the comic. So if the show were to ever end, ever, at any point, and the comic was still going, I would have to sit down with Scott [Gimple] and pretend that I have no idea how to end it and work with him to try and come up with a new ending.”
“The Walking Dead” has already changed numerous details from the comics, meaning a different ending isn’t that surprising. “The Walking Dead” returns later this month on AMC.
