The mid-season finale of the sixth season of AMC’s “The Walking Dead” airs this weekend, but ahead of that broadcast two of the show’s stars are promising some seriously dark and intense storytelling for the remaining eight episodes early next year.
Norman Reedus tells Variety that the momentum that has been building up so far will come to a head and explode: “I want to say that our back half is the best 8 we’ve ever done. It’s super intense.”
Indeed filming has just finished on those remaining eight episodes this week. Shortly after, leading man Andrew Lincoln spoke with The Wrap and hyped up the full season finale which we’ll see in April: “We just wrapped 24 hours ago on what I think is the darkest and most extraordinary season finale that we’ve ever attempted. To say that I’m excited would be a vast understatement. And it ends with a very big bang.”
The back half of the sixth season of “The Walking Dead” kicks off Februrary 14th next year.
In other finale news, The BBC has released the trailer for the season finale of “Doctor Who” airing next weekend. Seemingly set mostly on Gallifrey, the trailer sees The Doctor facing off against Weeping Angels, Daleks and the Time Lords themselves. The episode, “Hell Bent,” airs next Saturday at 8pm on BBC1.
