Universal Pictures is moving forward with the seventh “Fast and Furious” film in the wake of co-star Paul Walker’s death and apparently has figured out what they plan to do with the already shot footage.
THR says that Walker’s character, Brian O’Conner, will NOT be killed off or absent. Instead, the official plan now is to “retire” the character in a way that will make use of the existing footage.
Since the tragedy, the studio, directors and writers have been looking over the footage shot so far and have apparently found a way to tweak the existing script so that Walker would remain a part of the story but could be written out.
Some additional scenes will have to be written and shot, but with an extra eight-months up their sleeve before the film’s April 2015 release, there’s a lot of time.
