Penguin Young Readers Group and Walden Media jointly acquired North American rights to Ingrid Law’s debut novel, “Savvy,” with Walden Media set to adapt the book into a feature says Reuters.
“Savvy” follows family members who gain different magical powers (such as making the world windy or rainy) on their thirteenth birthdays.
But before a young daughter learns what her power will be, a tragic accident strikes the family, leading the children to race against time to avoid a perilous situation.
Law’s the author and illustrator of “The Faerie Wedding Tale” and “A Quilt for Uncle Paul.”
