Walden & Fox Set Up Some Dates

20th Century Fox has set the release dates for the first four movies created under their new banner with Walden Media.

“The Dark Is Rising” is set for October 5th and stars Ian McShane, Frances Conroy, Christopher Eccleston and Gregory Smith in a tale of a young man who learns that he is the last of a group of mythical warriors.

“Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium” is set for November 16th. Zach Helm wrote and directed the picture, which stars Dustin Hoffman, Natalie Portman and Jason Bateman in this story of a magical toy store.

“Nim’s Island” is set for release April 25th 2008. Jodie Foster and Abigail Breslin star in the movie, about a magical place ruled by a young girl’s imagination. Production begins this Summer.

Finally, sci-fi adventure “City of Ember” has set an October 10th 2008 release and is set in a city illuminated in lights that begin to go out. Two teens set off on a race against time to solve an ancient mystery and save the city.
