Wahlberg, Wyatt Up For “Gambler” Remake

Mark Wahlberg is reportedly considering a remake of the 1974 James Caan film “The Gambler” at Paramount Pictures.

“Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes” director Rupert Wyatt is also said to be circling to helm the project from a script by William Monahan (“The Departed”).

The original followed a college professor whose gambling addiction overcomes him even after he gets in big trouble with the wrong guys.

Irwin Winkler, Robert Chartoff, and Stephen Levinson will produce.
