“The Fighter” actor Mark Wahlberg and director David O. Russell have been tipped to re-team for several projects in the wake of that film’s award success, and today another was added to the list.
Vulture reports that Wahlberg will star in Russell’s adaptation of Matthew Quick’s 2008 novel “The Silver Lining Playbook”. The story follows a delusional former high school history teacher who’s just been released into the custody of his mom.
Believing that he’s only been away for a few months instead of the four years he just spent in a mental institution, the teacher sets about wooing back his ex-wife.
The project now looks to have taken priority over both a “Fighter” follow-up and the proposed video game adaptation “Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune” which the pair were both linked to, thus making this Russell’s likely next project.
