Wahlberg Produces, Possibly Starring In “King”

Mark Wahlberg and Stephen Levinson are set to produce the crime drama “When Corruption Was King” for Paramount Pictures reports Variety.

The story is based on the Robert Cooley novel about a southside Chicago lawyer who becomes the mob’s most trusted attorney until, as a state witness, he brings the organization down.

Frank Baldwin is adapting the script while Marty Bowen, Wyck Godfrey and Shane McCarthy are producing. While Wahlberg is presently only committed to produce, the project could be developed as a starring vehicle for the actor.
