“Lone Survivor” star Mark Wahlberg and director Peter Berg are re-teaming for “The Six Billion Dollar Man,” the feature film adaptation of the classic 1970s TV series “The Six Million Dollar Man” at Dimension Films.
Wahlberg would play former astronaut Steve Austin who, after a horrific crash of an experimental plane, is saved by doctors when he is fitted with bionic replacements including both his legs, his right arm and left eye.
He becomes a force to be reckoned with for the government as a secret agent for the Office of Scientific Intelligence. Various writers are said to be circling the project.
Berg, Sarah Aubrey, Stephen Levinson and Bob Weinstein will produce, and Universal Pictures may partly finance the film as well.
