A few days ago came the report that U.K.-based bookies had Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran and Ellie Goulding as the favorites to do the opening credits music for the next James Bond film “Spectre”.
We know that the number has already been recorded and the artist should be revealed in the next few weeks ahead of the actual tune itself dropping in early October, but no-one is quite sure who has done it.
That may have changed today though as THR reports that a British bookie has suspended betting on this particular proposition after an anonymous gambler dropped a very large £15,000 ($23,000 U.S. dollars) on a bet for legendary British rockband Radiohead.
Before the bet was made, Radiohead had 10/1 odds. Now it’s the new frontrunner and the bookmakers tell the trade that the bet seems highly suspicious: “There seem to be all kinds of rumors and the plot has had more twists and turns than a classic Bond tale, but surely nobody risks £15,000 on a hunch.”
Radiohead, whose iconic singles include “Creep,” “Karma Police” and “Paranoid Android,” have not yet done a Bond film after thirty years in the business. They began work on a new album in September last year.
