Those involved in the upcoming reboot of the “Tomb Raider” film franchise have made it fairly clear that the Alicia Vikander-led new film takes its inspiration from the 2013 game reboot.
That title saw a young Lara Croft on her very first expedition in order to uncover and protect her late father’s research. When her ship capsizes, she is left isolated on an island east of Japan – an island being used for a dark purpose.
Certainly, when watching the trailer, big parts of it offer a direct homage to the title, while elements of its sequel “Rise of the Tomb Raider” are also visible.
Today a new video has popped up offering a side by side comparison of various key scenes and it’s surprisingly on point. “Tomb Raider” will hit cinemas on March 16th.
