As we know, Viola Davis has become the top choice to play Amanda Waller in David Ayer’s upcoming “Suicide Squad” movie at Warner Bros. Pictures. Davis herself suggested in interviews the other day that it’s really only a matter of scheduling around her other commitments such as ABC’s “How to Get Away with Murder”.
Now, The Wrap reports that Davis is actually nearing a multi-picture deal to play Waller in a bunch of DC Cinematic Universe pictures.
Her work in “Suicide Squad” would thus be only the first appearance of a character who could well show up in multiple movies. The site also says that one of the film’s stars, Will Smith, has been lobbying personally to do whatever it takes to cast Davis.
Filming on “Suicide Squad” is slated to kick off in April in Toronto. Tom Hardy, Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie and Jai Courtney star in the project about a group of supervillains who take on black ops jobs for a secret government agency in exchange for amnesty. Davis’ Waller would serve as their handler.
