Famed French actor Vincent Cassel has joined the cast of HBO’s sci-fi drama series “Westworld” for its third season.
The “Black Swan” and “Jason Bourne” star will play a villain in the drama, but specifics of his role are under wraps and HBO declined comment. The project marks Cassel’s stateside TV series regular debut.
Showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy said in a joint statement Tuesday: “We’re incredibly excited to work with Vincent Cassel. We’ve been longtime fans of his and are thrilled for him to join the Westworld team.”
Cassell joins Lena Waithe and Aaron Paul who also are hopping onboard for the third season alongside returning regulars like Ed Harris, Evan Rachel Wood, Jeffrey Wright and Thandie Newton.
The new season is said to be a ‘radical shift’ from the previous one and will air sometime in 2020.
