Following on from the trailer launch of “Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2” over the weekend, Screen Junkies spoke with one of the film’s key stars – Vin Diesel – about the future of the franchise.
Diesel voices Baby Groot in the follow-up, playing most scenes opposite Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper). Both characters are scene stealers in the trailer and previous film, so much so that there’s already been calls for a potential Groot & Rocket spin-off.
Attending Brazil’s CCXP over the weekend, Diesel revealed that the possibility isn’t as slim as you might think – it might happen someday:
“I think if it’s up to James Gunn, you are going to see a Groot and Rocket movie after Infinity War. I think that’s highly possible. We shall see. I know that, somewhere in the universe, you are going to see Groot and Hulk battle. You can write it somewhere. You are going to see that poster: Hulk vs. Groot.”
It’s expected some of the ‘Guardians’ characters will show up in someway in the “Avengers: Infinity War” or its sequel which both go into production shortly.
