Viggo Mortensen Is “Far From Men”

Viggo Mortensen has joined David Oelhoffen’s $7.7 million French-language feature “Loin des hommes” (“Far From Men”) for One World Films.

The story is inspired by Albert Camus’ short story “The Host,” Mortensen plays a French teacher in a small Algerian village in 1957 during the war of independence from France.

He is ordered to take a dissident to the authorities to turn him in but the two men unexpectedly bond. Marc du Pontavice and Matthew Gledhill will produce.
