“X-Men” visual effects artist Tim Miller is set to make his feature directing debut on “X-Men Origins: Deadpool” for 20th Century Fox reports Deadline.
Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (“Zombieland”) were hired last year to pen the project based on the character Ryan Reynolds portrayed in last year’s “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” and is expected to reprise again in this.
The character is Wade Wilson, a smart-mouthed mercenary who undergoes a military experiment to replicate Wolverine’s mutant healing factor. The experiment is a success, but he is rendered severely scarred.
Miller created and owns Blur Studio which is doing pre-vis work on Ron Howard’s “The Dark Tower” film adaptations at present. Miller himself has directed numerous cutting-edge video game trailers.
