“Versace” Moved Up To Be S2 Of FX’s “Crime”

FX has done a switch, shifting around the second and third installments of “American Crime Story” with the originally planned third season “The Assassination of Gianni Versace” to instead serve as the anthology show’s second season.

Set to hit in early 2018, two years after the first season “The People vs. O.J. Simpson” premiered to rave reviews, ‘Versace’ will deal with the murder of the famed fashion designer by serial killer Andrew Cunanan in 1997.

Darren Criss, Edgar Ramirez, Penelope Cruz and Ricky Martin star in the series which began filming in April. Tom Rob Smith penned the series which Ryan Murphy directed the premiere episode of.

“Katrina: American Crime Story,” which was originally scheduled as the second season, will not become the third with production having been pushed back to early 2018.
