Following the first three films in “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise along with “Rango” and “The Lone Ranger,” filmmaker Gore Verbinski is returning to the horror genre which he previously dabbled in to great results with 2002’s “The Ring”.
Verbinski has reportedly cast Dane DeHaan and Mia Goth as the two leads in his upcoming supernatural horror tale “A Cure for Wellness” at New Regency. “Revolutionary Road” scribe Justin Haythe is writing the script.
DeHaan plays an employee who is sent to rescue his boss from a European ‘wellness spa’ but soon realizes he’s trapped. He discovers that the facility has a more sinister purpose than just serving the health needs of its patients.
Goth would play a longtime patient who is oblivious to the spa director’s dark designs for her. Filming on the project is slated to start in Europe in June.
