Vacation Duo Could Pen New “Spider-Man”

“Vacation,” “Horrible Bosses” and “Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs” scribes John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein are said to be in early talks to pen the upcoming Marvel-approved relaunch of the “Spider-Man” franchise at Sony Pictures.

Both Daley and Goldstein were actually finalists to direct the film as well, a job that ultimately went to rising newcomer Jon Watts who directed the indie thriller “Cop Car”.

The new story is said to be set in high school and have a John Hughes-style tone to it. Tom Holland is playing Peter Parker/Spider-Man and will make his appearance first in “Captain America: Civil War” ahead of the reboot. Marisa Tomei is in talks to play Aunt May.
