Warner Bros. Pictures has set John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, the directors of “Vacation” and the upcoming “Game Night,” have entered negotiations to helm the DC films entry “Flashpoint”.
The project has been on hold while actor Ezra Miller has been filming the “Fantastic Beasts” sequel, but with his schedule now clear and with a fresh rewrite of the script that leans more comedic than previously indicated, the studio has picked the pair to take the helm of this DC extended universe film focused on Miller’s The Flash.
Daley and Goldstein are also the writers of the “Horrible Bosses” films and have experience in the superhero genre, penning the first drafts for last year’s “Spider-Man: Homecoming”. It has previously been reported that several different members of the Justice League cast will reprise their roles, but with the new draft it’s not clear if any will still appear.
Both Seth Grahame-Smith and Rick Famuyiwa were previously attached to the film and dropped out, while Robert Zemeckis was the most recently rumored candidate to take over.
