Update On “Wolverine 3,” “New Mutants”

Some brief but good news on the “X-Men” front today starting with confirmation from Patrick Stewart himself that the older Professor X from the film franchise will be popping up in the third and final standalone “Wolverine” movie currently in the works.

Speaking with Collider, Stewart confirmed that not only will he be appearing but it will be a lot more than just a cameo – meaning it’s a significant supporting role.

Filming on the next “Wolverine” is expected to begin early next year for a March 2017 release.

Meanwhile it looks as if progress is being made on the proposed “New Mutants” spin-off film which “The Fault in Our Stars” director Josh Boone is co-writing the script for. Boone shared a picture on Instagram showing the script to date saying that he’s still going but he’s getting there.

Boone’s involvement in the film, which focuses on the students of Professor Xavier’s school for gifted youngsters, was announced in May and the project is expected to be getting a July 2018 release.
