SuperMassive Games, the developers of 2015’s choose-your-own-path interactive PS4 horror game meets animated slasher film “Until Dawn” starring Hayden Panettiere, Rami Malek and Brett Dalton, have revealed they’re developing a whole series of games along a similar bent.
Set to be released under the brand ‘The Dark Pictures Anthology’, the plan is for intense standalone horror games which will be published by Bandai Namco. Like “Until Dawn,” your decisions, your reactions to horror thrown at you, will determine who will and who won’t survive.
Each game will be standalone and evoke different horror subgenres kicking off with “Man of Medan” which plays out like a blend of “Into the Blue” and “The Deep” meets “Below” and “Ghost Ship” as a young group of divers discover supernatural horrors buried in a WWII plane wreck at the bottom of the South Pacific.
While “Until Dawn” was a PS4 exclusive, the new games are being developed for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. “Man of Medan” will release sometime in 2019.
