The fourth and likely last season of Lifetime’s “UnReal” is ditching the network and jumping over to SVOD service Hulu after Lifetime sold the fourth season to the streamer for its first run.
A+E Studios reportedly made money on the deal with Hulu and there are no expectations for Lifetime to order another season. Should the show do well on Hulu though, where it already is the show’s SVOD home, it could be renewed.
Sarah Gertrude Shapiro and Marti Noxon produce the series, a savage satire of dating competition reality series, which does poorly in linear ratings but is popular on digital and amongst binge watchers. The third season wrapped last month on AMC and will hit Hulu shortly.
