Universal Pictures and Sony Pictures have pushed the release date of “Insidious: Chapter 4” back by two months. Instead of opening on October 20th, it will now hit on January 5th 2018.
The film takes over a previous placeholder for an untitled Blumhouse horror project and is the sole release for that weekend so far. At the same time, Blumhouse has moved “Half to Death” into the old “Insidious 4” slot.
Adam Robitel helms “Insidious: Chapter 4” in which Lin Shaye returns as Dr. Elise Rainier, the brilliant parapsychologist faces her most fearsome and personal haunting yet: in her own family home.
Christopher Landon’s “Half to Death” follows a college student (Jessica Rothe) who relives the day of her murder with both its unexceptional details and terrifying end until she discovers her killer’s identity.
