Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures have locked down a future film slate schedule with dates set for a bunch of high-profile animated sequels.
First up, “Minions 2” has been set for a Friday, July 3rd 2020 release. A few months later, the company will drop a sequel to last year’s family hit “Sing” on Christmas Day 2020.
They’re also developing a sequel to “The Secret Life of Pets” which, though originally slated for July 13th 2018, has been pushed back a full year to July 3rd 2019.
The pair already have “Despicable Me 3” slated to June 30th this year, and a new CG animated adaptation of Dr. Seuss’ “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” set for a November 9th 2018 release. Film adaptations of “Flanimals” and “The Cat in the Hat” are also in the works.
