Universal Sets Its Blu-Ray Titles

Former HD-DVD exclusive studio Universal Pictures will kick off its Blu-ray releases with the first two seasons of “Heroes” on August 26th.

The studio confirms that all its new films, starting from last month’s “Doomsday”, will be released day-and-date with regular DVD.

That includes upcoming titles like “Wanted,” “The Incredible Hulk,” “Hellboy II” and the third “Mummy”.

They’ll also put out some back catalogue titles, all previously released on HD-DVD only, on Blu-ray including American Gangster, Knocked Up, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Miami Vice, End of Days, U-571 and Land of the Dead.

In other disc news, Latino Review says expect the DVD & Blu-ray releases of “Speed Racer” on November 25th 2008, and “The Dark Knight” on December 9th 2008.
