Universal Remakes Texan “Whorehouse” Musical

“Legally Blonde” scribes Karen McCullah Lutz and Kirsten Smith are set to pen a remake of 1982’s “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas” for Universal Pictures says Variety.

The original comedy followed a town sheriff (Burt Reynolds) and brothel madame (Dolly Parton) who join forces to stop the Chicken Ranch, the famous local whorehouse, from being shut down by a righteous TV moral crusader.

The remake will be a musical but it’s unsure if all or any of the numbers from the original will be included. Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey will produce.
