Universal Pictures has announced that they have indefinitely delayed the Chris Pratt-led Image Comics adaptation “Cowboy Ninja Viking,” but have not revealed a reason for doing so.
The film reportedly remains in active development and will be given a new release date at a later time to accommodate the production schedule. Filming was about to begin ahead of an originally planned June 28th 2019 release.
Heat Vision reports that there have been growing concerns over the script since March. Chris Pratt was set to star as a new kind of assassin in the film who manifests the toughest skills of three different personas: Cowboy, Ninja, and Viking.
Priyanka Chopra recently came on board to play Pratt’s love interest while Michelle MacLaren was set to direct the film. Paul Wernick, Rhett Reese, Craig Mazin, Dan Mazeau and Ryan Engle all worked on the script while Guymon Casady, Ben Forkner and Mark Gordon are attached to produce.
