Universal Planning “Best Man” Sequel

Universal Pictures has set Malcolm D. Lee to write, direct and produce a sequel to his 1999 wedding-themed comedy “Best Man” says Deadline.

The original followed a writer (Taye Diggs) preparing to be the best man for his football player buddy (Morris Chestnut), despite his autobiographical novel about to released detailing his intimate time with the bride. Terrence Howard, Harold Perrineau, Nia Long and Sanaa Lathan also starred in the original which grossed $35 million.

Lee’s plan is to ask the original cast to reprise their roles in this follow-up.
