Universal Likes Marr’s “Wicked Lovely”

Universal Pictures has landed screen rights to Melissa Marr’s fantasy novel series that began with “Wicked Lovely” reports Variety.

The story follows a 17-year-old girl who can see fairies, and must fend off the advances of a fairy king determined to marry her to save the planet from his vengeful mother.

Caroline Thompson (“Edward Scissorhands”) will adapt the book. A fourth installment in the book series is due to be published next year.
