Universal Pictures has acquired rights to a seven-book series of bestselling spy novels by Daniel Silva reports Variety.
The Silva series, beginning with the 2000 novel “The Kill Artist,” revolves around Mossad agent Gabriel Allon.
Allon was part of the covert team that avenged the murder of Israeli athletes at Munich Olympics. He retired and became an art restorer after his wife and child were killed by a terrorist.
The sixth book, 2006’s “The Messenger,” is being considered for a possible first film. Pierre Morel (“Banlieue 13”) is set to direct.
