Universal Giving “Doom” A 3D Reboot?

A not unexpected rumor has emerged in the endless remake wave with Universal Pictures reportedly having another go at adapting classic video game “Doom” reports What’s Playing.

Ignoring the reviled 2005 sci-fi feature with Dwayne Johnson and Karl Urban, this reboot will apparently be done in 3D and writers are currently being sought. The studio hasn’t confirmed this report at present.

One of the earliest first-person shooters and games to utilize a 3D environment, the series follows a marine stationed on Mars who answers a distress call on the moon of Phobos. There a teleportation gateway has created an opening to Hell itself and you must destroy the demonic hordes with a hell of a lot of weapons.
