Universal Pictures has acquired worldwide distribution rights to M. Night Shyamalan’s thriller “The Visit” with a September 11th 2015 release date set.
Previously known as “Sundowning,” Kathryn Hahn plays a single mother whose young children visit her parents. The brother (Ed Oxenbould) and sister soon discover their grandparents are up to something sinister during the week-long trip, and it seems their chances of returning home grow smaller every day.
Shyamalan directed from his own screenplay and will produce alongside Jason Blum and Marc Bienstock. The film was shot in and around Shyamalan’s Pennsylvania home and was self-financed by the filmmaker.
Shyamalan’s serves as an executive producer on the upcoming FOX event series “Wayward Pines”.
