Universal Adapts Quinn’s “Dog on It”

Universal Pictures has beat out New Line and Summit to acquire Spencer Quinn’s novel “Dog on It: A Chet and Bernie Mystery” reports Variety.

Jeff Lowell (“Hotel for Dogs”) is set to write the script about a down-on-his-luck private eye who sets off, accompanied by his loyal dog, to solve a missing persons case.

The story is told from the vantage point of Chet, a dog that flunked out of K-9 school. Daniel Rappaport, Ben Forkner and Cathy Schulman will produce.
