Uncharted Trilogy & Fourth Game News

Naughty Dog has released a new story trailer for “Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection” in full 1080p/60fps. Most of the clip comes from the third game, but scenes from the second and first can be glimpsed.

Though there’s been an upgrade of resolution and frame rate, the remastered games look otherwise pretty much the same as before though some of the lighting and textures have seen improvements. A video comparing PS3 & PS4 versions of the same scene in “Uncharted 2: Among Thieves” can be found here and is more revealing.

Naughty Dog Community Strategist Eric Monacelli has also done a posting on the PlayStation Blog which says the games will have new ways to play – “New Trophies and modes such as our Explorer, Speed Run and Brutal Modes will invite long-time adventurers to replay these classics while welcoming newcomers to discover Uncharted greatness.”

Explorer mode is for those who aren’t a fan of shooters and combat difficulty is reduced greatly. Brutal mode is exactly that – with your weapons not faring so well and the game proving much harder. Speed Run mode includes a timer and is all about those who want to play the game super fast. “Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection” hits stores on October 9th.

That isn’t the only news on the “Uncharted” front today as Game Rant has caught a German Amazon listing which has the much anticipated “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” hitting stores on March 9th, a strange date as it’s a Wednesday and not the time usually for game releases.

Naughty Dog and Sony have both previously said they have every intention of getting the fourth game out in stores in the first quarter of next year.
