Justin Richmond, the director of the upcoming third entry in the highly successful “Uncharted” video game series, has shot down pretty much all the talk that has emerged so far about the developing film adaptation based on the franchise.
Most of the news so far came earlier this month where a LA Times interview with David O. Russell said the film “would involve a family aspect” with Nathan Drake and his relations.
Talking with Joystiq, Richmond says “First of all, all that stuff was denied by Savid O. Russell. He actually called us up and was like, ‘I don’t know what these guys are talking about.'”
Mark Wahlberg has spoken in interviews about the film but has said it’s early stages yet. Then talk emerged last month that he had signed onto the adaptation. Richmond says Wahlberg isn’t confirmed to star.
