Uncharted Film Drops Director, Changes Course

The film version of the popular video game series “Uncharted” has had a rocky voyage through development, and today it appears to have crashed onto the rocks yet again.

Heroic Hollywood and io9 report that Seth Gordon, the latest filmmaker who has been attached to the Sony Pictures project for some time, is no longer onboard the movie.

Initial reports suggest he left over budget cuts, however follow-up repots now indicate the budget is remaining the same and the film is “simply going in a new direction”. What that means is unclear.

David O. Russell and Neil Burger were attached to previous versions of the film which follows treasure hunting adventurer Nathan Drake.

The trilogy of previously released games are being remastered ahead of a release on PlayStation 4 in early October, whilst the fourth and apparently final title in the series hits early next year.
