“Unbroken” Sequel Gets A Trailer

The first trailer has arrived for “Unbroken: Path to Redemption,” the sequel to the Angelina Jolie-directed Oscar-nominated 2014 Louis Zamperini biopic “Unbroken”. This follow-up, however, is notably not in the same league.

Made on a much smaller budget, the project is far more a faith-based film and will use the second half of Laura Hillenbrand’s biographical book to explore Zamperini’s life post-WWII and his struggle to get back on his feet after suffering PTSD.

Falling into despair and alcoholism, he’s put back on the right path by evangelist Reverend Billy Graham. Pure Flix will distribute the project which comes from filmmaker Harold Cronk (“God’s Not Dead”) and producer Matt Baer.

Samuel Hunt will take on the role of Zamperini (replacing Jack O’Connell from the original), while also onboard are Merritt Patterson as his wife Cynthia and Billy Graham’s actual grandson Will playing his grandfather. Richard Friedenberg and Kenneth Hixon penned the script with the film set to open October 5th.
