Uma Thurman will star in Handmade Films’ “Eloise in Paris,” an adaptation of Kay Thompson’s kids literature series reports Variety.
Thurman will play Nanny, caretaker of the precocious title character who was the central figure in the series. They’re now searching for a young actress to play the title character.
Charles Shyer is directing from a script he penned with his daughter Hallie Meyers-Shyer and Larry Spencer.
Handmade hopes to hatch a film series from the Eloise books and has already begun developing the follow-up, “Eloise Goes to Hollywood.”
Production will begin lensing in June in London, Paris and New York.
