Ultron To Shoot Partly In South Africa

Along with north Italy and South Korea, it has now been confirmed that parts of location shooting on “Avengers: Age of Ultron” will take place in South Africa.

Two weeks of filming will take place in Johannesburg and other areas of Gauteng beginning mid-February, although many of the key actors will NOT be a part of the shoot.

Gauteng Film Commission CEO Phindile Mbanujwa says: “We’re thrilled that Marvel Studios is bringing a major motion picture project to Johannesburg, and we’re committed to showing them the very best our region has to offer.”

Johannesburg Mayor Parks Tausaid says: “We are excited to host Marvel… It strengthens Johannesburg’s position as a worldwide film production centre with first class facilities and production support. It also has a very positive impact for the region and is a great opportunity for the city to be showcased to a worldwide audience.”
