Tyrese Teases “Green Lantern” Announcement

Channing Tatum strongly talked about and suggested possibly playing X-Men’s Gambit long before he actually got the gig. Someone else who has spoken about such a possibility has been “Fast and Furious” series actor Tyrese Gibson who has long wanted to play the John Stewart version of “Green Lantern”.

With the casting of at least one and possibly several versions of the Green Lantern character rumored to be announced at this year’s Comic Con, Gibson has been using social media to seemingly tease that you might just see his name in that announcement. It began a few days ago with a posting in response to the multiple Green Lanterns rumor:

Shit just got real – #doubleoath #doubletrouble #GreenLantern #WB #VoltronPictures

And then a few hours ago he posted this:

#TheOath has been taken…..

Gibson also spoke with ET Online and was even more explicit, saying: “I took the oath. I had a meeting at Warner Bros. and certain things were said and talked about… You know, listen, there are certain things I can’t speak on. But I will say that, however way this works out, it’s definitely the fans’ fault. I was at home minding my own business and fans start creating these fan-made videos of me as Green Lantern and I looked into it. I’ve been a fan of the Green Lantern.”

Asked about his possible Comic Con plans, he says: “You never know. I might be there on the other side of an announcement.”
