Talk about quick, Summit Entertainment is moving forward with production on the third “Twilight” saga so fast that it will have finished shooting a month before the release of the second film.
Production weekly reports that “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” has set a shooting schedule running from August 17th until October 31st at Vancouver Film Studios. David Slade (“30 Days of Night”) will direct from a script by Melissa Rosenberg.
In the third entry, Seattle is being plagued by a string of unsolved murders which relate to a young vampire brood created by Victoria (Rachelle Lefevre) who is out for revenge.
With high school graduation quickly approaching and Edward having proposed marriage, Bella must choose between her love for Edward (Robert Pattinson) and her friendship with Jacob (Taylor Lautner) while the vampires and werewolves wait in the mountains to take on the army of newborns.
The second film, the Chris Weitz-directed “The Twilight Saga: New Moon”, opens November 20th. It’s expected the cast will directly segue from shooting the third film to promotional and publicity work for the second.
‘Eclipse’ is slated to open June 30th 2010.
