TV’s Flash Reacts To Film Flash’s Costume

While “Justice League” and “Wonder Woman” rocked Comic Con’s Hall H with their trailers on Saturday morning, one person who had other commitments at the time was another actor playing The Flash – Grant Gustin.

The star of The CW’s “The Flash” missed the presentation but was later shown on a smartphone a look at Ezra Miller in costume as the big screen Flash. Talking with Screenrant who showed him the photo, he seemed quite happy that the film take will be quite different to his interpretation on the TV series – both in terms of costume and character.

“They’re completely different. Yeah, I mean I was kind of expecting this, I heard it was going to be kind of like Injustice. I hadn’t seen this yet, what else is out. Sorry I’m scrolling through the whole thing, I haven’t seen this picture. Yeah, that’s sick. Um… yeah, it’s sick. I’m glad it’s really different though [laughs]. Because ours is like a street, vintage feel that I don’t think has been done in any other version of the character.”

He was asked if the moment of seeing his own character on screen in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” albeit played by another person, was a strange one. He responded:

“Well at that point it didn’t really feel like I was seeing my character on screen, at all. Because you barely saw him, first of all. He wasn’t really The Flash yet. And even still, Ezra’s just going to do his thing. It’s going to be, probably, pretty different. And I think he’s a great actor. I don’t think it’s ever going to feel like ‘Oh, that’s weird, he’s playing my character!’ He’s going to be playing his character. It’ll be cool.'”

Gustin’s “The Flash” returns in October, while we’ll see Miller as the big screen flash when “Justice League” opens in November next year.
