Premise: Its 2151 (a century before Captain Kirk), when space exploration was still anything but routine and the Federation light-years away from forming. Captain Jonathan Archer (Quantum Leap's Bakula) is a gung-ho Starfleet pioneer, going where no human has yet ventured. He's joined by an eclectic crew that includes an imperious female Vulcan (Blalock), a skittish linguistics expert (Park), a wisecracking engineer (Trinneer) and a resourceful alien doctor (Billingsley) who's fascinated by these strange new Homo sapiens. When Earth comes under devastating attack by an alien space probe, the Enterprise is sent into the Delphic Expanse, a dangerous area of space Archer likens to the Bermuda Triangle in ordet to prevent the aliens known as the Xindi from developing more weapons of mass destruction.
