TV Series Sequel For “L.A. Confidential”

Author James Ellroy and New Regency are shopping around a TV series sequel to his 1990 novel “L.A. Confidential”.

Ellroy wrote the project on spec as a TV drama series which will be offered to broadcast and cable networks in the form of a straight-to-series commitment. Several outlets have reportedly already expressed interest.

This follows on news the other week that Ellroy’s 2012 novella “Shakedown,” about the 1950s tabloid world of Los Angeles, has been set up at FX.

Ellroy’s original “L.A. Confidential” novel became the award-winning 1997 movie starring Kevin Spacey, Russell Crowe, Kim Basinger and Guy Pearce.
