TV Ratings: “Gotham” Steady, “Murder” Massive

Second week early ratings are in and “Gotham” held strong in its sophomore outing, dropping a fairly soft 13% to a 2.8 rating and 7.33 million viewers in Live+Same Day results. However the strongest retainer was “Scorpion” which dropped just 6% from its premiere and garnered a 3.0 rating and 12.23 million viewers.

“Sleepy Hollow” fell 15% to a disappointing 1.7 rating and 5.1 million viewers, while “The Blackist” suffered badly with an 18% drop to a 2.8 rating. On the flip side both are heavily DVR’d shows so will see numbers jump when Live+3 and Live+7 numbers come in. “NCIS: Los Angeles” returned in a new time slot and with just a 1.9 rating, down 35% from its old Tuesday berth. However, CBS projects a Live+7 jump of a whopping 64%.

Shonda Rhimes’ new series “How to Get Away With Murder” broke a record – scoring the biggest DVR viewership increase in history. In Live+3 ratings, the drama series premiere jumped to 20.3 million viewers and a 5.8 rating – an increase of 6 million viewers.
