Peabody Award-winning producer Steven Adams along with Theo Dumont, Brad Thomas and Weston Scott are all teaming to executive produce a TV series adaptation of Mark Tufo’s popular novel series “Zombie Fallout”.
The best-selling dark comedy series includes fourteen books, audiobooks and graphic novels and3 follows a community of heroes, monsters, cowards, and misfits struggling against a world dominated by zombies. A Moveable Feast
Village Roadshow and several produces have closed a deal to produce a TV series based on Ernest Hemingway’s 1964 memoir “A Moveable Feast”. Mariel Hemingway, John Goldstone, and Marc Rosen will produce.
The story details Hemingway’s life as a young expatriate journalist in Paris in the 1920s while he was married to his first wife, Hadley Richardson. Famous figures incorporated into the story include F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald, Alice B. Toklas, Gertrude Stein, and James Joyce. [Source: Variety]
Australian actor Ben Lawson (“Designated Survivor,” “13 Reasons Why”) has been cast opposite Katherine Heigl in the drama series adaptation of Kristin Hannah’s novel “Firefly Lane” for Netflix.
Maggie Friedman (No Tomorrow) is showrunner on the series about Tully (Heigl) and Kate, two unlikely best friends who meet as young girls and become inseparable for nearly thirty years, until a tragedy breaks them apart. Cherish the Day
Cicely Tyson (“How to Get Away With Murder”) is set to join Ava DuVernay’s OWN anthology romance series “Cherish the Day” as a series regular. Tyson will play Miss Luma Lee Langston, legendary star of stage and screen in decades past. Xosha Roquemore and Alano Miller lead the cast as Luma’s P.A. and love interest respectively.
The story will chronicle one couple’s romance, with each episode spanning a single day. The season-long narrative will unfold to reveal significant moments in a relationship that compel us to hold true to the ones we love, from the extraordinary to the everyday. [Source: The Wrap]
Ginny & Georgia
Netflix has issued a ten-episode series order for the mother-daughter coming of age series “Ginny & Georgia” with Antonia Gentry and Brianne Howy to play the angsty fifteen-year-old daughter and her dynamic thirty-year-old mother respectively with the pair having spent years on the run and trying to settle down in a picturesque New England. Diesel La Torraca, Jennifer Robertson, Felix Mallard, Sara Waisglass, Scott Porter and Raymond Ablack also serve as series regulars. [Source: Variety]
American Horror Story: 1984
FX has released two new teasers for “American Horror Story: 1984,” the new 80s slasher-themed season of the horror anthology series. Emma Roberts, Cody Fern, Billie Lourd, Leslie Grossman, and John Carroll Lynch are all set to return, joined by Gus Kenworthy, Zach Villa, DeRon Horton, Angelica Ross and Matthew Morrison. The new season premieres September 18th.
