The Wheel of Time
Daniel Henney (“Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders,” “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”) has been cast in Amazon’s “The Wheel of Time” TV series adaptation of the Robert Jordan fantasy novel series. The story is set in a world where magic exists, but only certain women are allowed to access it.

Henny plays the role of al’Lan Mandragoran. He joins previously announced cast members Rosamund Pike, Josha Stradowski, Marcus Rutherford, Zoe Robins, Barney Harris, and Madeleine Madden. This series is being adapted for television by executive producer and showrunner Rafe Judkins. [Source: Variety]

Catching the Cold Killers
World Media Rights is developing the true-crime ten-part documentary series “Catching the Cold Killers” with LAPD Cold Case Unit veterans Rick Jackson and Adam Bercovici who re-open cold cases that have bewildered LA’s law enforcement community for years. Jackson was the inspiration for Michael Connelly’s Hieronymous ‘Harry’ Bosch character who leads the “Bosch” TV series on Amazon. Alan Griffiths and Dean Palmer will executive produce. 68 Whiskey
Sam Keeley (“In The Heart of the Sea”), Gage Golightly (“Red Oaks”), Cristina Rodlo (“The Terror”), Jeremy Tardy (“Ballers”) and Nicholas Coombe (“Dora and the Lost City of Gold”) are set to star in comedic drama series “68 Whiskey” for Paramount Network, CBS TV Studios and Imagine Television Studios. Filming on the first ten-episode season begins this month with a premiere scheduled for early 2020.

Written by “The Brink” co-creator Roberto Benabib, the story follows a multicultural mix of men and women deployed as Army medics to a forward operating base in Afghanistan nicknamed ‘The Orphanage’. Together, they endure a dangerous world that leads to self-destructive appetites, outrageous behavior, intense camaraderie and occasionally, a profound sense of purpose. [Source: Deadline]

Veteran actor Chris Cooper will play the head of the shadowy conglomerate The Geist Group, which backs the Homecoming Transitional Support Center, in Amazon’s second season of their series “Homecoming”.

Cooper will play Leonard Geist, an eccentric botanist, more at home in his greenhouse than in the boardrooms of the company he created. Janelle Monae, Stephan James, and Hong Chau co-star. Kyle Patrick Alvarez helms the full season. [Source: The Wrap]
