TV News: Transparent, Pete, Time, Murder, Fargo

Amazon used the Television Critics Association tour this week to announce a December 4th premiere date for the second season of the transgender drama “Transparent”. The series has already been renewed for a third season to air in 2016. [Source: Variety]

Sneaky Pete
Amazon has released a new trailer for the Bryan Cranston-produced potential TV series “Sneaky Pete” starring Giovanni Ribisi as a con man who assumes the identity of his former cellmate. The pilot was originally developed for CBS who opted not to pick it up. Amazon started making a deal for the show in June and will now premiere the pilot on Friday. Should reception for said pilot go well, a full series will be developed.

Your Time Is Up
“Murder In The First” actress Kathleen Robertson has sold the dramedy project “Your Time Is Up” to Lionsgate TV. Christina Applegate is attached to star in the family saga which is said to be in the vein of “Six Feet Under” and centers around a complex and unconventional psychologist. [Source: Deadline]

How To Get Away with Murder
Famke Janssen has joined the second season of ABC’s “How To Get Away With Murder” for a multi-episode arc. Janssen will reportedly play a brilliant defense attorney who takes her job very seriously. [Source: Variety]

FX has released two more teasers for the second season of its anthology series “Fargo” with the new one set in 1979 Sioux Falls. Jesse Plemons, Kirsten Dunst, Ted Danson, Jean Smart, Jeffrey Donovan, Bokeem Woodbine, Angus Sampson, Nick Offerman, Cristin Milioti, Brad Garrett, Kieran Culkin and Bruce Campbell all appear in the new season which kicks off in September.
