TV News: Time, Indoors, 24, Unforgettable

Time After Time
“Harry Potter” and “UnReal” star Freddie Stroma has been cast as the lead, author H.G. Wells, in Kevin Williamson’s ABC pilot “Time After Time” based on Karl Alexander’s fantasy novel. The story follows Wells as he tracks Jack the Ripper through time to the modern day.

The project was previously adapted for the screen as a Nicholas Meyer film in 1979 which starred Malcolm McDowell and David Warner. Marcos Siega is directing the TV version’s pilot. [Source: Deadline]

The Great Indoors
“Community” star Joel McHale has signed on to star in CBS’ multicamera comedy pilot “The Great Indoors”. Mike Gibbons (“Tosh.0”) created the series and is penning the script and executive producing.

The story centers on McHale’s Joel, an outdoorsy adventure reporter with a sardonic sense of humor who must adapt to the times when he becomes the boss of a group of millennials in the digital department of the magazine. [Source: The Live Feed]

24: Legacy
Anna Diop (“The Messengers”) has been cast opposite Corey Hawkins and Miranda Otto in Fox’s franchise reboot “24: Legacy”. Manny Coto and Evan Katz are penning the new episodes which will be the first in the series without Kiefer Sutherland.

Diop will play Nicole, the wife of military hero Eric Carter (Hawkins) who returns to the U.S. and is compelled to ask CTU for help in saving his life and stopping a large scale terror attack. [Source: Deadline]

The Poppy Montgomery-led procedural “Unforgettable,” which ran for three seasons on CBS and one on A+E, has officially been cancelled and this time it’s permanent. A+E opted not to renew the series, opting instead for projects produced in-house over this series created by an outside studio. [Source: The Live Feed]
